Buffista Movies 7: Brides for 7 Samurai

A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.

Because books.

because that movie, I am still ranting about it.

I couldn't even watch the whole thing. I wanted to, after a few horribly appalled, disappointed minutes in the beginning, just so I would have more ammunition to prove how awful it was, and I couldn't do it.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

I was in a hotel and my body rhythms were fucked up. That's my excuse for watching and finishing that movie.

Don't know if the Wickerman mention was a comparison. I love Wickerman - the score alone makes it worthwhile, and I think the story is actually good horror.

Kiss me, my girl, before I'm sick.

I think Jessica must have meant the Nicholas Cage remake of The Wicker Man? The original is a classic.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Count yourself lucky. I think Cage is on some Marquis de Sade-esque quest to explore the outer reaches of bad acting.
