Didn't they do either an album or at least some songs about LoTR even before the movies? My Alzheimer's is setting in...

Buffista Movies 7: Brides for 7 Samurai
A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.

I'm going to see The Hobbit on Saturday: 3-d Imax.
So excited. Going with a large (for me) group of people: we're making an event of it with a hobbity breakfast first and then the movie.
Lord Sauron has many spies! (Many spies, with many eyes)
The scene at our house tonight:
Pete, very casually: "Do you want to have Fellowship on in the background while we work on things?"
Me: "Sure!"
time passes
Pete: "... you know that we're going to end up watching all three movies before we go see The Hobbit next week, right?
Me: "That's what I was expecting, yes."
Pete: "Oh good."
Yeah, I had people over to watch the LotR over the past few Saturdays, too. Still love the lighting of the signal fires.
DH and I rented the old Rankin Bass animated Hobbit off of iTunes over the weekend to compare the two. By time spent to get to that point in the book:
PJ: 3 hours
RB: 20 minutes
And the R-B film has lots of leisurely musical numbers!
Break the bowls and chip the plates!
That's what Bilbo Baggins hates!
