Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

I remember being sniffly when I first saw the movie as a youngster but the movie just gets funnier with successive viewing. By the time we get to the blind gardening (!), I'm usually on the floor, giggling helplessly.

I do have to say I have not seen this in about 10 or 15 years, so I may find it funnier now!

All you Roger Allam fans need to see him in Parade's End, in which he stars with... Benedict Cumberbatch. It's a non-singing part, though.

(He's also in The Thick of It).

Huh.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

While I am interested in the movie in the trailer, it does not feel like a "Star Trek" movie to me.

Kiss me, my girl, before I'm sick.

Hello, Tailor has analysis/speculation of the trailer and which TOS villain Cumberbatch is supposed to be playing: [link]

I've only watched a handful of the original Trek episodes so the only one familiar to me is Khan, but it's fun to see folks geeking out over the trailer already.

Yeah, that was how I felt. It looks so generic. I'm sure it'll be fun and exciting, though.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I am so sorry I ever doubted you, PJ. The Hobbit is completely fucking amazing. It almost makes me wish he'd done this one first so he could have had the liberty to make LotR with this amount of detail.* Nothing is left out, and a whole lot of stuff from the Silmarillion is crammed in. SO MUCH TOLKIEN NERD GOODNESS OMG.

And oh my Martin Freeman. I could eat him up with a spoon.

(The only thing I'm not 100% sold on is the HFR projection. In some scenes it's immersive and incredible and in others it just looks weird.)

OTOH, I just found out that by leaving the holiday party early to go to this screening, I missed being in a conga line with Matt Smith. WHY MUST LIFE BE SO UNFAIR.

*Which I realize would have meant 9 or 12 movies instead of three...and that would have been just fine.

Is it completely fucking amazing if you're not a Tolkien nerd?
