Doesn't winter seem more like archiving season?

I totally missed this: Tyler Perry is Alex Cross now.

For a hot second, I really liked these James Patterson books, but before he became a brand instead of an author, his quality dipped dramatically. So I don't have an emotional reaction to the recasting of Morgan Freeman with MADEA, just giggles. Good on Perry for moving out of his box (well, his box and Star Trek).

Good piece by Kristin Thompson about the decision to make three films out of The Hobbit:

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

After watching the Hulu featurette, I'm even more excited about Les Miserables. Vocal performances on camera.

Wow. I'm watching Cabin In The Woods (yeah, last person ever) and it's really hard to look away from. Like, I can look away from anything, but this has made me paranoid of missing stuff. Good job, team.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

I will be interested in your reactions to the ending of the film. I was really with the movie until the last third.

I still don't know what I think about that last third of the movie.

I'm not finishing it before tomorrow at the earliest, so I'll be back then.
