Will and I saw Expendables 2. It was loud, cheesy, actiony fun. there's not really a plot but there are a ton of gun battles, hand to hand fights and fights with knives and brass knuckles. And humor although most of it is cheesy.
There's also a scene in an airport (in a foreign country) with a huge gun battle that includes Bruce Willis and Arnold Arnold Schwarzenegger in smart car chasing/shooting at the bad guys.
Beau and I saw one good movie and one not so good movie last night.

We tried to watch it on Netflix, but Netflix was having a moment, so we streamed it on Amazon free. Anyway, this is a documentary of the great sushi (3 Michelin star) sushi chef Jiro Ono. It is really engaging, amazing, unexpected drama. The director is fantastic (I think this is his first major film), and the editing is superb.
Note: if you are squeamish about the cooking and preparation of seafood, watch with a friend to tell you when to cover your eyes.

I don't recommend it. It is a "horror" movie was is not so gruesome as troubling and hard to understand many characters' motivations. I was left very unsatisfied.

Oh, nice! Last I had heard, Tony Shalhoub was up for the role, but I think this is an excellent choice.

I saw that. I do enjoy that they seem to be giving racists the middle finger in their casting, or maybe they just like the publicity (I honestly don't remember Beetee's description, so I don't know if his race was implied in anyway).
I don't think Beetee was described in any great detail. And yes, I love that they're diversifying the cast to a good degree.
All I can picture is crazy finger-in-light-socket hair, but I don't even know if that's from the book.
This means I can now hire Cary Elwes to perform scenes from The Princess Bride for my birthday for loose change and a slice of cake, right? [link]
