OTOH, Tony Stark = just as rich + ACTUALLY fun, so there is that.
Plus, he seems more inclined to share his toys, at least the ones that don't kill people.
A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.

I don't have any reason to believe that Bruce Wayne isn't excellent at what he does. Whether the rich boy party funtime persona goes down to the bone or not isn't really a consideration for me.
The movies don't show a huge amount of him, but he did get Rachel to fall in love with him, so he must be not horrible at something. Never mind the other girls he's entertained at the actual level for which I'd be interested in getting tickets.
If Bruce Wayne looks like Christian Bale I wouldn't care if his idea of a date was sitting in the car at a Sonic drive-in. He wins.

Re. Avengers the movie:
I don't think it's a perfect movie. I don't even think it's a great movie. I think it's a great time, and I'm proud of it, but for me, what was exciting is that people don't go to see a movie that many times unless it's pulling on something from within, unless there's a need there. That's very gratifying.
Yep, that's it in a nutshell.
BTW, where would we talk about SHIELD the TV show? It'll probably be a while before we hear about characters and casting since I think it's still in the script-writing phase, but I guess it doesn't hurt to think ahead. Here, or over at Buffy and Angel thread or the Box Set? Hmmm.

The Jossverse thread, I would think.
I need to finish watching Dollhouse so I can poke my head in there again.
Regarding SHIELD, I don't care if it takes an asspull the size of Galactus, they need to resurrect Coulson and make him one of the main characters.
Just saw a trailer for Looper. I still need to see Premium Rush, dammit!
There's talk (fan spec) of Coulson becoming The Vision. Which would mean no SHIELD. Since it seems to be superhero free.

I'll be the dissenting voice, I liked Coulson well enough but I want to watch the Avengers sequels and a show about S.H.I.E.L.D., not the Agent Coulson and Some Other People franchise that a big segment of fandom seems to be jonesing for. The character's been given more importance to the narrative than I think he deserves already.
Saw Premium Rush. Liked it. Glad they hung a lantern on the no gears no brakes because I thought that was ridiculous, especially with how fast Wiley was peddling all the time.
The bad cop wasn't as outrageous as I'd read, but he was still OTT in a couple of scenes. And I totally picked up on the character who was apparently two places at once. Thanks, director interview!
Loved the bike cop. Poor dude.
It was a nice air conditioned early birthday present to myself, and I even got to see a new trailer for Looper, which makes JGL look even freakier.
