A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

I just got back from seeing "A Cat in Paris." It's one of the most unusually gorgeous animated films I've ever seen, with backgrounds and even some of the animation done in pastel. I honestly want all of the backgrounds as posters.

Two caveats - the hand-coloring on the animation jitters in a way that might be problematic for people who have steadicam issues. Also, I might not recommend taking very young children to see it.

Fun fact - Steve Blum, aka Amon from The Legend of Korra, voices one of the main characters. Anjelica Huston voices another.

Ooh, Beverly, I'm so glad you posted that, because I hadn't clicked on the Buffy one, thinking I had seen it -- but no! I saw the Firefly one! Good times.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Shoot day 266 and the end of principal photography on The Hobbit

This is making a wibble in my tummy.

I haven't read anything that said he didn't. Everything seems to be in line with the initial announcement.

Woe to the fucking wicked.

The reports I've seen are that both movies were being filmed (and are now done)
