I don't recall if electricity killed the aliens in the previous movies, but perhaps this was a nod to that?
Or said freaky fetus then being able to gain hundreds of kg of mass out of thin air over another couple of hours post-extraction, as that infirmary didn't seem to have big crates of supplies it could have fed on.
The same thing happened in either Splice or Species. (I saw them back-to-back and they sort of ran together in my head.)
Anyway, I recommend Splice. The secret to watching it is to ignore all the bad science and major ethical lapses of the characters and just look at it as an incredibly fucked-up family drama.

Splice scarred me for life. Under no circumstances can I recommend that movie. I really hated it. Everyone who watched it in my theater also hated it. The screams starting about 2/3rds of the way in were not from entertainment.
I have never had a movie-going experience like that and hope to never again.
So, what did people think of David watching Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence and copying David Bowie's speaking style and hairstyle?
I thought it was cool but was a little disappointed they didn't go further with it.

I felt the same way about The Ten Commandments.
It's something I haven't seen in science fiction, which is a sense of racism or bigotry towards androids and synthetic life.

Charlie has told me to shut up, he's being honest. Uh, he'd also be honest if he told me what he had for breakfast. "True" isn't sufficient criteria here. "Relevant" would be nice--I'm not asking for innovative, but "applicable in general" is cool too.
