I just passed Taylor Negron on the streets of Silver Lake. He was looking kind of like a homeless person, which I hope for his sake is not actually the case.

Although he's apparently friends-of-friends on Facebook, and they have chimed in to say the last they heard he was doing fine. He's probably just having an I'm-in-my-'hood-and-don't-give-a-crap-what-I-look-like day.

So, I don't think this has been posted here, but WOW! This looks like it might just be as epic as it deserves:

Do we know if that's Anne singing? Sounds like it could be, and if it is, she's got what it takes to carry the role.

I haven't trusted science since I saw the film "Flubber."

Yeah, that's her. She's done quite a bit of singing here and there.

And certainly Hugh and Russell will be doing their own singing. I expect Russell Crowe's singing will be somewhat less polished, but I have no idea, outside of the snippets he's sung in things like 3:10 to Yuma.

Because books.

Russell Crowe has had some rock band for years, with a really weird name I can't remember.

Emmy Rossum would have been awesome as Eponine. Or Cosette, actually.

Kiss me, my girl, before I'm sick.

That's some cast. Russell Crowe strikes me as more of a Jean Valjean-type than Hugh Jackman though. But it looks good!

Man, it's been two decades since I saw the musical for the first time. Ah, nostalgia.

Yeah, I'm interested to hear how Amanda what'sherface and Eddie what'shisface sing.

Me too.

However, I didn't realize until tonight that the film's producer is Cameron Mackintosh, who produced the original English production of Les Mis, and is one of the single biggest producers of musicals on the British stage, so I imagine he demanded a high bar from the production.

Not bad. Not a big voice, but pleasant enough.
