Oh, man. I think Taylor could rock that.
Buffista Movies 7: Brides for 7 Samurai
A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.
Armie Hammer is pretty but sort of pedestrian to me. And Taylor Kitsch has too much attitude, too much pout, for me anyway. Hedlund is probably the closest to what I imagined out of those three.
Too much attitude? But Finnick is all attitude in his introduction (I just reread it looking for character descriptions--bless you, Nook app)--you definitely need someone who can play cocky, as well as all the other spoilery things. From what I've seen of FNL, he's as good a choice as many.
I do not get Garrett Hedlund in the least, tho.
Here's the latest list I have:
- Jensen (I put him on just to warm up)
- Justin Hartley (Smallville)
- Zac Efron
- Taylor Kitsch
- Charlie Hunnam (I've been told he's too old)
- Chris Zylka (Secret Circle)
I've also seen Alex Pettyfer on people's lists.
Zac Efron is too sweet. Charlie Hunnam is probably too old, although I would LOVE that.
I've never seen Garrett Hedlund in action, I realize. He's got the look, though.
I may not be remembering right, but I thought Finnick was smoother, slicker. Taylor Kitsch on FNL was more pouty bad boy.
He's way OTT in his first encounter with Katniss. And I totally interpet it as bad boy with a complete knowledge of his charms. Given that Taylor also played Gambit pretty well, I can totally see it.
I have to read it again, then. If the neighbor kid ever gives me back my book.
Here are two of the pages of his introduction (images, because the app won't let me cut and paste):
Gambit was one of the few good things about the Wolverine movie, and he's pretty similar to this. No idea about his character in the two bombs of this year.
Oh, I forgot the golden-net sarong, and the sexual innuendo. Clearly, I have to reread.
I'm making an uncompensated career out of quoting directly from the book. Which, really, the articles covering it really should, to just forestall shit.
No, he's not forty something. No it's not possible that his eyes are blue...
Alex Pettyfer is number one on my list. Garrett Hedlund number two.
Armie Hammer is way too beefy. if Hunnam(he is!) is too old, Justin Hartley(he so is!) is way too old. Kitsch is only a year younger than Hunnam(and starting to look his age IMO).
of that list, only two are age appropriate Zylka and ZEfron and neither are Finnick for me. though i do love me some ZEfron.
