I also saw Avengers for the second time this afternoon. Theater was ~80% full at 3:15 on a Sunday afternoon. Pretty good. The folks in front of me and behind me had not seen it before. Folks in front thanked me for alerting them to the two extra scenes. They were an older couple and I was tickled at how totally into it they were.
In addition to all the moments you all have mentioned: I loved when
Thor was fighting Hulk in the aircraft bay, and he held out his hand for Mjolnir and...waited...and you hear thump thump
thump
THUMP
BANG
and then you see that the hammer has just blasted through walls and large amounts of stuff to get to him. That was a cool little moment.
Mjolnir is a character in its own right, imho.
I could use a little thump thump BANG, if you know what I mean.
There's a screencap of that moment floating around Tumblr captioned with "
Accio
Mjolnir!" I giggle at it every time.
Oh, and in the same scene, when
Hulk tries to pick up Mjolnir and he CAN'T. His feet are digging holes in the metal floor and the hammer will. not. come up. Mjolnir just lies there smugly, all "Yeah, grab this, UnJolly Green, I'm magic!" Then Thor just reaches down and scoops it up.
Yeah, well, I'm still waiting for them to do Beta Ray Bill in a Thor movie.
Didn't Ororo pick up Mjolnir once?
Didn't Ororo pick up Mjolnir once?
She got her own hammer once, I think.
I'm finally convinced that Joss really does have a thing for barefoot women. When we first see
Natasha, she's barefoot, and Pepper is barefoot in both her scenes in Stark tower.
Not really spoilers, but, kinda.
a certain middle east dish is selling out due to a billion dollar movie.
spoilers for The Avengers.

Ironically it's the one Middle Eastern dish I don't like, despite my advocacy of the cuisine in general. (Have never liked that tzatziki sauce on lamb. Though some roast lamb in a pita with tahini sauce would be heavenly!)
