And now I just saw a preview for "Mirror Mirror," the Snow White movie with Julia Roberts. Daaaamn.

A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.
I just saw a preview for the 21 Jump Street movie. Damn.
Currently has a 100% on Rotten Tomatoes. As opposed to A Thousand Words, which has a 0%.

Yeeeeah, pretty much. And I don't even have anything against Julia Roberts.
See, I thought the 21 Jump Street looked supremely stupid, but that Mirror Mirror could be cute and shallow and mildly enjoyable, and I *do* have something against Julia Roberts.
I don't even care about Julia Roberts one way or the other. I'm all in on both upcoming Snow White movies just for the costume and design porn.

What the everfucking fuck? I can't even sit through the trailer without wanting to self-harm.
Movie trailer bug: every promo monkey latching on to the Inception BRRRRR!!!! for their trailers. That was a singular sound. Find your own, darnit. Please stop cashing in on the pavlovian response to mystery and awesome. Because at least Inception included that bone chilling deep note in the movie itself.
Nolan shoulda copyrighted that sound and locked it away for at least a decade. Keep it away from lesser movies! Or at least their trailers.
Whoever is behind the other Snow White movie -- the one with Kristen Stewart and Charlize Theron -- must be chortling in glee because Mirror, Mirror makes their movie look so much better.
But their movie still has Kristen Stewart. It made me realise some things about how I feel about Julia whatsername.
News flash: the opposite of good is John Carter.
No, seriously, I'd rather watch Devour while sober.
But their movie still has Kristen Stewart
True, but it's offset by the presence of Theron (whose V.O. in the trailer I find cheestastic but in a kind of awesome way) and the Thor guy. I've only watched first Twilight movie and haven't read any of the books, and I have no particular objection to Stewart, actually. Whereas the other Snow White movie just looks ridiculous. Which is too bad because I really liked the director's previous film, The Fall (although that might have been mostly for Lee Pace in eyeliner.)
