Mal: Well, look at this! Appears we got here just in the nick of time. What does that make us? Zoe: Big damn heroes, sir.

GS: If you had to choose between kicking evil in the head or the behind, which would you choose, and why? Minsc: I'm not sure I understand the question. I have two feet, do I not? You do not take a small plate when the feast of evil welcomes seconds.

I'll put TPM back into viewing rotation when someone has created an edit which removes all of the thinly veiled racist stereotypes. Cutting out Jar-Jar barely scratches the surface.

Didn't the Phantom Edit do that by making the Trade Federation and Gungans speak their own subtitled language? Or at least, that helped with the worst of it.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

That's just asking for trouble that is.

Indeed. Still beats finding there's a kid in childcare called Jar Jar.

Hey. New board.

I'm totally following the Machete order with Calvin, when he gets to Star Wars age.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

New Avengers trailer!! I can't wait to see all these superheroes beat the shit out of each other.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I'm sure the heroes will beat the shit out of each other in one briefly curtailed misunderstanding, and then more extensively in training.

At least I hope that's how it goes down, not the Avengers meets the X-Men standard story EVERY TIME.

However, that's fucking exciting, and maybe it deserves me buying an Iron Man t-shirt instead of recycling the Captain America...

I did end up getting a black Hunger Games pin and motto shirt, so I'm psyched as all get out for that.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

New Avengers trailer!!

Um...

Wow.

So, does it look like this is it for Joss? The moment where he makes it from a repeated cult success into mainstream viability? How do you think this will affect his future projects--both his choices and his funding?

I don't have much in the way of coherent thought right now, so I don't have any response other than "Please???"

Yeah, it's hard to tell from the trailer whether any of those fights are training exercises or something.

Um...

Wow.

This is the first trailer that made me confident there's, like, a movie about characters with a story in there in addition to all the cool shit blowing up. Excitement!

He's got some other movie in the works, In Your Eyes, that I don't know much about, but it looks like he's able to do things that he wants. I wonder if he'll come back to TV, at this point.

There's been a pretty huge buzz for The Avengers outside of the usual Whedon fan-base, right?

I kind of don't want to get my hopes up regarding potential increased awesomeness of Joss's career, but things look promising.

I can see the average man in the street wondering that, but did you not figure, with experience of Whedon, that this was really very likely?
