I thought What's Your Number almost succeeded at not slut shaming, and was pretty funny, although the point where I laughed until I cried was when she was trying it again with the black ex. Although the French stuff was pretty highly stupidly funny. That was a lot of absurd.

Buffista Movies 7: Brides for 7 Samurai
A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.
Yeah, if they'd just left out that phone call at the end, it would have been great.

We watched Melancholia last night. Hated it. My DH described it as a "Chanel ad full of horrible people." It was beautiful to look at, but I didn't think it added up to anything.

I love this description and I have not seen the movie.

We saw The Woman In Black last night. Welcome back, Hammer Studios! It was great. A wonderfully atmospheric and creepy Victorian gothic ghost story.
I hated it too, Scrappy. ended up turning it off after an hour or so.
Why does a woman sign up for He's Just Not That Into You? They're all shrewish and mean and stupid. Why does a man? They're all buffoon, asses, and douches.
Rewatching the Coens' True Grit on Netflix streaming. What a fantastic movie, with such strong performances all around.
