Yes. Lucky for you, people may be in danger.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Dana knows I don't get it either.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I hadn't seen any of the prequels since they were in theatres, but I remember thinking Attack of the Clones was a decent political thriller/action movie begging to be set free, and some of Sith I actually quite liked. (Right up until "Noooooooooooooooooooooooo!")

Then I tried to watch Phantom Menace with Dylan a couple of weeks ago (he asked to see a Star Wars movie he hadn't seen before). I thought there was no way it could be as bad as I remembered. Surely I had just built up an exaggerated and unfair caricature based on years of fannish mocking? It was probably just an average juvenile action movie, right?

OH MY GOD IT WAS SO MUCH WORSE. Like, I was prepared for the horrific racistness of Jar-Jar, but I had completely forgotten the slanty-eyed untrustworthy traders. And I had only vague memories of the bulge-nosed greedy desert merchant.

And just when you start to think hey, these are aliens, let's give George the benefit of the doubt that he didn't really mean them to come across that way...Anakin starts talking. And you get lines like "Are you an angel? My mother told me they're the most beautiful creatures in the world!" And then Obi-wan starts going on about the fucking midichlorians and I don't even know what crimes against filmmaking are in the second half because I turned it off.

I haven't trusted science since I saw the film "Flubber."

MORE JEREMY RENNER FOR ME

I'm a straight guy and I *totally* get the Jeremy Renner thing.

Woohoo!

(As long as you're not in between me and Jeremy.)

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Not getting the Renner or Hardy love. Well, I get the Hardy thing as he is basically Sex In Human Form, but I don't really respond to him.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Lucas says The Empire Strikes Back is the worst of the six films

Okay, what are you talking about?

Really. WTF?

Beau and I always talk about how Phantom Menace could have been better when we see other movie/etc. For example, we have been rewatching the Avatar series and there are so many examples of how TPM could have been richer and more rewarding.

Not to mention Lagaan. That's a longass movie, but its themes were right in line with what could have been done with TPM.

I'm all riled up again over those fucking prequels. I thought I reached closure. I will never get over it.

No really. I've even heard a rumor that you are not allowed to mention Empire when you're working at Skywalker Ranch.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Empire--you mean the one that had human emotion and actual acting and directing and characters the audience could invest in and a storyline that didn't require tons of CGI? That Empire? Sure, the worst of the bunch. Yeah.
