I'm sorry. You were going to ask me to choose, right? Did you want to finish?

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

I have yet to see Footloose. And Hubby's in it.

Aroo? Is he an extra? I luuuuuurve that movie and the soundtrack.

When it first came on cable, I think I watched it about a billion times. Same with Raiders.

information libertarian

I recently learned - well, re-learned, I knew it a long time ago and had forgotten - that a Classics professor I know is in Young Guns II. Apparently they needed someone who could speak latin and had a beard to be the priest in a burial scane, and he was teaching at Arizona State near where they were shooting. His character even has a name, but I can't find a clip on Youtube.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

I'm going to have to watch Footloose and look for slumbering Connie hubby. And he was really asleep? That's hilarious.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I got my first TV because I couldn't bear the thought that there were random airings of Footloose that I was missing. I got my second TV in a flurry because my first TV broke and Colin was going to be on TV RIGHT NOW.

However, since then, it's been a sickness of upgrading.

Anyone here have an opinion on Contraband? I kinda want to, I kinda don't. Looking for the hair to tip the scale.

brillig

And he was really asleep?

He was working a night shift at the time, so after his shift he and his wife would go over to the set. He'd sit down in his assigned spot and just conk out. The first time, the Assistant Director went to wake him up, and the Director stopped him, saying "There's always somebody asleep in church, leave him be." And he stayed asleep through all the takes, the fire and brimstone sermons, everything. At the end of the day they asked him if he could do that again, and he said sure.

The extra casting director was someone he knew, that's how he got called in. For American Graffiti, he was either a cop or a fireman at the time, and they apparently got hit up all the time to be extras. He's also been in some cheap monster movies, but he doesn't know the names. He said "I was told to show up, we stood around, we were told to run screaming through a parking lot, we were done."

Southern California in the 70s.

Yeah, looks like a definite HBO-at-best. Shame. I could do with a bit of formula right now, but that's certainly not worth getting dressed for, much less shower.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Last night, Beau and I saw "Troll Hunter" via Netflix. That is one crazy ass movie. No lie. I don't know what I expected, but it wasn't the movie I got.

I liked the movie by the way. Those Norwegians know how to do dry humor even if the special effects are kind of shitty.

For those of you who don't know it: it is a Blair Witch Project kind of movie but with trolls and less claustrophobic. I would say it is probably less scary than BWP (if BWP scared you), but I did jump a couple of times.

There is a whole lot of WTF though. Starting with my lack of knowledge of how large trolls are supposed to be. I am not up on my troll mythology, so that made the movie all the more fun.

Imagining trolls in a modern world also provide hours of entertainment during and after the movie.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

I thought it was all right.
