Kiss me, my girl, before I'm sick.

Huh. I haven't read any of the Stephanie Plum books but heard vague murmurs of discontent from the fans about having Katherine Heigl play the character in the movie adaptation. Deservedly so 'cause boy, did she ever make some stinkers, especially in the romantic comedy genre.

Anyway, the trailer's out: [link] And you know what? It looks... sort of fun! I know nothing about the books (other than the fact that the lead character is a bounty hunter), but I'd totally go see this movie on the merit of that trailer, Heigl-factor and all. Admittedly, I like romantic comedies, but still. Nice job, trailer-monkeys.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I thought was interesting that the two leads aren't American. They look very engaging.

Yeah, I thought the trailer looked shockingly good and pretty much right on.

I haven't read the books. I imagine I might find the character in them as irritating as I find Heigl's version. That trailer makes me want to slap people.

You absolutely would.

Heh. I'm not surprised. Of all the things that are not up in ita's wheelhouse, this one would be right there on top.

I heard the character becomes a more competent bounty hunter in later books, but in this one, she's a mess. Usually I find that annoying, but the trailer's got a breezy pace and the Heigl and the Main Dude seem to have some chemistry, so I'm sold.

I'm all over Mara's sexiness usually, but it evaporates when he gets attracted to a woman I can't stand.

But much as I like Mara - I don't see him as Joe Morelli.

"already on the kiss-cam with Karl Marx"-

I think everyone should be more ethnic. That's what I picture, not that anything is being...desecrated.(I liked those books a lot, though I have lost touch with it in recent years.)

Yeah, not the face I pictured in my head when I read the books. But, I like the person they chose for Ranger even if I don't know the actor. And I think Debbie Reynolds is going to steal the show as Grandma Mazur.
