Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

I just went to it and it says it's been blocked by UMG for copyright reasons.

Because books.

That's so weird -- I just listened to it not a half hour ago. But I'd opened the link this afternoon and left it there, so.

"Oh no! Has falling sky liquid once again caused you the sadness?" -Starfire

You can listen to a sample of it on iTunes. And the song has definitely grown on me.

ETA: It's available on io9 now.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

It's not bad. I don't get why people (not here) are freaked out. I've never heard her before, so I don't have that reflex. It's not my thing, but it's sweet and plaintive and the story definitely had that side to it, with Prim and everything.

Hey. New board.

There are plenty of reasons not to love Taylor Swift, but I think a lot of the hate-on for her is knee jerk reaction against anybody who is THAT popular amongst young people. My guess is the freak-out has to do with the fact that many people thing the Hunger Games shouldn't pander to the popular, which I think is silly; The Hunger Games is extraordinarily popular!

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

I like some of her songs, particularly "You Belong with Me." But her "acting" dispels most of the admiration I felt for her. She was out-acted by Ashton Kutcher, George Perez, Eric Dane, and various inanimate objects in Valentine's Day - her speech, expressions, and movement were so unnatural I expected a panel in her chest to pop open and reveal a tiny alien piloting the Taylor Swift robot like what happened with that guy in Men in Black.

Hey. New board.

I doubt she's a good actress, though I didn't see Valentines Day. I'm okay with her being bad at it, especially if she learned her lesson and doesn't try it again. Don't know why that would dispel admiration for her music - different things. Can't expect everybody to be good at everything they do. Shaquille O'Neal is a pretty bad actor too.

I still think she's a decent singer, but her acting was SO bad it just gives me a visceral Do Not Want reaction whenever I see her smirking through a commercial or anything. I'd be happy if she went the Greta Garbo route and all the public ever heard from her again were record releases.

That was not me, but it looks like fun! Rick Yune, Rain, and Naomie Harris? How odd.
