I'm with Jesse on Serenity. I didn't hate it, but I don't care to watch it a 2nd time.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Twice in the theatre, might even have teared up twice. Haters to the left, yo.

Because books.

I loved Serenity! You people are cold and dead inside.

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

I loved it, but I haven't been able to bring myself to rewatch it.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I'm pretty sure I only saw it the once, but the characters were not the ones I loved from Firefly.

Thrive to spite them

I've watched Serenity more than once. The first time I cried at Wash's death, but it just didn't feel like Firefly. It felt too slick.

I'm with ita ! on this one. Saw it at a preview showing and once again before it finished it's general run. I've made my peace with the Simon retcons. I think Mr. Universe is the only major issue I still have, but I'll deal with it given that it was a movie and not and episode.

Calli: My people have a saying. A man who trusts can never be betrayed, only mistaken.Avon: Life expectancy among your people must be extremely short.

A 60's era comedian noted that the skepticism of Shakespeare as author of the plays and poems was based on his humble origins and his lack of a university education. "Now that one third of Americans attend college," the comedian said, "why look at all wonderful plays and poems of the same quality that are just flowing like water". Don't remember the comedian's name, but that was decent snark.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

I'll admit it, I thought Serenity was deeply flawed. I mostly enjoyed it, but it was no Firefly.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

I watched Firefly. And Serenity was no Firefly. Pretty, exciting, fun, even. But the characters I'd grown to love were all just subtly off--some more than subtly.
