I love Anna Faris - she's completely fearless and it makes her a fantastic comic actress.
DH and I saw
Ides of March
yesterday, and I left the theatre feeling very confused. It wasn't a bad movie, but I have no idea why it was made. If Primary Colors and The Social Network had a baby, this would be the offspring. Excellent performances all around, and a few really good scenes, but...why tell this story?
There's a lot of ass in this movie. I guess they were very much into exploiting their R rating.
Also, Anna's stunt double has a very poor wig. That was pretty horrible.
What? No love for Movies from msbelle?
I am sadly disappointed.
I can't believe they remade
Footloose.
I can't believe I've sat near some people in the theatre that didn't work out the trailer was for a Footloose remake until the movie's title came up.
The lead, whoever he is, is no Kevin Bacon. But the guy who plays his friend is spot on. It just seems like a really strange story to tell now, although the dancing looks amazing.
Couldn't Zac Efron have played the part?
I am not discussing this. I am pisst off that they are remaking this film. I cannot be objective about it.
Why don't you remake "16 Candles" for crying out loud? And "Breakfast Club" and completely ruin my teen years.
The lead, whoever he is, is no Kevin Bacon.
He's a dancer, is what. And just adding to the number of famous people from Massachusetts. Seriously, is everyone funny from Mass.??
Seriously, is everyone funny from Mass.??
I hear that there are funny people in Canada, too.
He's a dancer, is what
So's Zac! C'mon, people!
I hear that there are funny people in Canada, too.
Mostly
from
Canada, more than
in
Canada.
I kid, I kid. Sorry, On The Spot (vintage edition).
I've never seen
Footloose.
For real. I saw
Dirty Dancing
roughly thirteen zillion times, but not
Footloose.
And the remake still looks stupid to me.
Oh! You should see
Footloose.
I think it's a great film. I certainly preferred it to
Dirty Dancing.
But I was never a Swayze fan, so I'm a bit biased on that front.
The remake looks *empty*. Not that the original was Melville, or anything. Just not this vapid.
Though, I always had a problem with the ending. The town's problem is that dancing escalates to violence, right? And then, at the end, when the kids dance? Violence. QED.
