"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

I am curious which movies you've discovered which were much better than their reputation or critical assessment or box-office suggested.

I've mentioned these two before, but Hudson Hawk and Long Kiss Goodnight.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

Actually, if you dig deeper into the credits, two of the four art directors on Atlantis also worked on Treasure Planet (and, hey, one of them also worked on Wall*E and A:TLA! cool! (and another of the art directors is Mike Mignola! double cool!)), and a lot of the background painters and character animators worked on both films.

I like both of them a little more, and see more in them, every time I watch them.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Long Kiss Goodnight.

That's been on cable a lot lately, and it does hold up.

"Mommy, are we going to die?"
"No honey, they are."

move out and draw fire

Aims, are you planning to take Em to the Spy Museum while you're in DC?

I liked Atlantis even at the time. The plot was meh but the concept and execution were much fun.

Emperor's New Groove is always underrated.

Dead Man and Brick.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

I thought Brick had a pretty good reputation. But I'm sure it made no money at the box office.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

Aims, are you planning to take Em to the Spy Museum while you're in DC?

I don't know. Part of me wants to because she is all about (spies?) (spys?) more than one spy right now. But then I thinka bout it and it's like, there are plenty of free museums for us to go to without spending $$ on one.

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

Did Secondhand Lions get good reviews? I sometimes feel like I'm the only one who knows about it.

Is that the one where Haley Joel Osment buys used lions?

I haven't trusted science since I saw the film "Flubber."

Emperor's New Groove is awesome, and everyone should love it.
