What you did to me was unbelievable, Connor. But then I got stuck in a hell dimension by my girlfriend one time for a hundred years, so three months under the ocean actually gave me perspective. Kind of a M.C. Escher perspective, but I did get time to think.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Directed by Fede Alvarez, Uruguayan director of the short film Panic Attack! I watched it last night, and it does have giant alien robots and massive destruction, so that's fun. I'd never seen Montenegro before, and now I've seen it destroyed!

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Another link to the DKR trailer.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

I haven't used streaming Netflix yet. Until we got Fios, we didn't have the speed to watch things that way. There isn't much in my queue that's available that way, anyhow.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

Some episodes are available free and some are available for Plus only.

For example Bob's Burgers-Episodes 1-5 are free (although it looks like a few are set to expire soon) and episodes 9-13 are Plus only.

I misunderstood what you were saying. I thought you meant that Hulu Plus had full seasons of some shows but only 5 episodes of some shows. I knew that regular non-Plus Hulu often has 5 episodes of certain shows, but then I totally mis-read your post.

Thrive to spite them

I'm sorry if I wasn't been clear, I changed some things and then didn't re-read for clarity.

It's hard to compare the Hulu Plus and Netflix because they don't offer the exact same things.

"Oh no! Has falling sky liquid once again caused you the sadness?" -Starfire

There is a free one week trial for Hulu Plus (or a month if you have a .edu email). I just tried it and hated it. The commercials were a big issue for me. Not just because there were commercials, but because they seemed to play at the drop of a hat. I rewound a show a bit because I'd missed something and had to sit through the same commercials again. As far as I could tell, it also didn't save your progress like Netflix does. So if I stopped an episode midway through, it didn't remember where I was, so when I went to play it again, I had to sit through the commercials AGAIN and then fast forward to where I was. Hulu Plus also paused a lot more often than Netflix does (we were watching through our PS3). Several times it just stopped altogether and I had to restart my system and try again. (Which of course led to more commercials).

I was also really disappointed in the selection. It's just not big enough. I think there were less than 600 complete tv series available, which may sound like a lot, but it's really not. I was hoping for that last season of Community. Nope. Only 5 episodes available. I thought I'd give Cougar Town a try. Too bad, only season 2 was available. They did have Spaced, but no IT Crowd. And the movies weren't even worth looking at. I browsed a bit and then quickly stopped because I didn't recognize any of them.

We cancelled before the free week was up (after we burned through season 3 of Parks and Recreation).

I'm not thrilled with Netflix for the huge price increase, so we'll probably be cancelling our live streaming. (And if Blockbuster lowered it's prices, I'd switch to them in a heartbeat). I figure if there's a bunch of stuff we want to watch on live streaming, we can activate it for a month, burn through everything, then cancel again.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

So now there will be three remakes of The Evil Dead in a four-movie franchise?

As is right and should be, given the history.

John Carter trailer. Looks surprisingly faithful to the books. I had heard that they were going to make John Carter a present-day soldier.

"What kind of magical sunshine and lollipop world do you live in? Because you need to be medicated."-SFist

more on the netflix price hike.

Well, my price is being lowered, so I'm not sure how this action is going to push me to want streaming, especially when far less than half of my queue is available instantly.

ETA: Actually, only 1/4 of my queue is available instantly.
