Buffista Movies 7: Brides for 7 Samurai
A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.
Tickets for a Sunday showing of Company - purchased. Yay!
Looks like you're set to be on target so far (not to say that GL can't be a surprise hit despite the critical panning, but I'd say that's unlikely, given that I love superhero movies and even I've been unsure about it from the trailers).
Wrong thread....
And the parodies begin.
I'll be seeing X-Men for the second time this Sunday. If my friend had wanted to see Green Lantern instead, I would have gone, bad reviews or no. But I can't say I mind another round of The Tragic Love Story of Charles and Erik . I wonder if I still have my 1980s X-Men comics stashed away some where?
I'm seeing Company this Sunday, too. Yay!
So far, I think X Men First Class is handily the most winneriffic of the comic book movies, and I'm not even sure Captain America can give them a run for it. However, I'm not sure if the box office will bear that out. It did do less well than the speculators thought it would, although better than the studio projected.
I wonder if there's gay in Cap, or we have to wait until The Avengers for him to get subtexty with Iron Man...
Despite the panning of GL, I will be going to see it this evening. I'm already wearing the appropriate logo T-shirt.

The clip I saw from the movie was good: [link]
And the parodies begin.
Man, I hope that movie is good.
