You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

I'd say it's almost always less annoying!

cool, thanks.

Princess Bride is on my A+ list. I liked the movie Slaughterhouse Five, I'm not sure what about it makes me not think of it as 'great'. Dangerous Liaisons would be A+ if not for Keanu. Were those really his best takes? argh.

Punishingly Intricate

High Fidelity was an extremely non-faithful film which worked pretty well, and I write as someone who adored the book.

I think so too. I thought it captured the spirit of the book quite well.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

The book "The Outsiders" was much better than the movie, IMO. I still cried like a little baby eating lemons, but the movie can't hold a candle to the book.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

And Dally had ice-blue eyes, unlike Matt Dillon! (I am glad I'm not the only one still carrying this stuff around....)

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Apparently there are others who share my opinion.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

When I think of great adaptations, I think of Princess Bride, Fight Club, and Scott Pilgrim, among others. Movies that A) were true to the spirit of the book, B) used the media of film creatively, and C) even improved on some things here and there.

I can't really have an opinion about the quality of the movie, since it came out at a too-formative age for me. I still looooooved it.

I'm with Jesse. I think we were at the same, formative age.I just realized that I had mentally replaced Matt Dillon with Christian Slater as Dally. Weird.
