What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

I don't know why I don't own those DVDs. Hmmm.

They are good DVDs to own! Plus, they are cheap.

Hobbit! Hobbit!

edit: I should write Peter Jackson that I will be wroth with him if the curse of LOTR holds over onto The Hobbit and Hubby ends up in the hospital after another midnight showing.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

I own the DVDs of Kitchen Confidential but a friend has had them for a long time. I need to get those back.

"already on the kiss-cam with Karl Marx"-

I started watching it on hulu yesterday...it's funny, but so far not as twisted for true Bourdain-ishness(imo, of course...haven't seen 'em all yet. )Too bad it's not still on...it might have made a perfect spec for me. I may not know a cleaver from a hole in the ground, but dark? I can do that. Faintly literary with a self-destructive tinge? I'm the Do-That Girl(actually, she's probably dead...but I'm the Copy-That Girl. At least.)

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

You know I realized I was kind of missing on the movie scene?

All those small budget neo-noir movies that Hollywood pumped out in the 80s and 90s. A lot were formulaic and had more posturing than acting.

But there were still a lot of gems in that subgenre: One False Move, Red Rock West, Deep Cover (Lawrence Fishburne's best), Body Heat (which kicked the noir revival off), Johnny Handsome, Angel Heart, The Grifters, The Last Seduction (Linda Fiorentino would've won an Oscar if the movie weren't disqualified on a technicality)...

You could still write a spec-script for that show. (I mean, I thought that in general you don't send spec scripts of the show your sending the spec scripts too - right? You could write a Kitchen Confidential spec and send it to Treme, for example.)

Would you put No Way Out in this list? I've always thought of it as a noir-type film.

Well, it can't be for something dead. Unfortunately. (although I did hear once about someone getting an awesome writing job from writing an MTM where Mary comes out of the closet.) I could write a very Merlotte's True Blood or something.(And then, promptly lose my soul from the moment of perfect happiness if I got the job, but, hey, it's Hollywood. I won't need it.)ETA: Hec, wrod.
