Doing Time on Maple Drive
Thank you, Frank!
I'd still like to see Stranger Than Fiction. Even though I won't ever forgive either Ferrell or Kidman for stomping all over Bewitched.
A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.

I actually liked Stranger Than Fiction, but more for the Emma Thompson and Queen Latifah than for the Wil Ferrell.
Also, The Conversation is awesome.
True. I also love The Lady Vanishes.
I'm very impressed that Jean de Florette is on that list.

That's how I feel about Land of the Lost. When I was seven years old, Land of the Lost was the coolest thing ever. (And in spite of the now-cheesy looking SFX, they had A-list scifi writers working on the show). It's like Ferrell went back in time and spat at my seven-year-old self.
I was surprised how much I liked Will Ferrell in Elf. I am pretty fond of Adam Sandler when he isn't turned up to 11, and Man in the Moon was pretty great despite my tepid feelings for both Jim Carrey and Andy Kaufman.

Exactly.
I will say probably no one's going to make the Bewitched movie of my dreams, but what they did was so far off the reservation, it was barely recognizable. Sniffle.
LoTR Extended BluRay is up for preorder.
I enjoyed both The Truman Show and Eternal Sunshine. (Quite like the soundtrack thereof too, Beck does a fine version of "Everybody's Gotta learn Sometime".) I also thought, at the time, that Ace Ventura was one of the funniest movies I'd ever seen, though the sequel was quite a step down. Oddly enough, it's The Mask that I found kind of meh.

I loved Ace Ventura too. Probably still do, though I haven't seen it in a long time.
I own The Mask, but for the big production numbers. "The SWAT team got an offer from Vegas."
