The Mechanic wasn't unbearably stupid.

A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.
Really? Was it a decent entertainment? We don't mind popcorn flicks, so we're not looking for Shakespeare, but fun is always a good thing.
I'd just been reading some pretty bad reviews of it.
I've been hearing some good things about Sanctum, the new Cameron diving movie--anyone seen it yet?
Willie Waffle gave it half a waffle and he's usually pretty good. Said it was trite, boring and hackneyed. The half a waffle was for the 3D at the beginning of the movie. It gets crappy over the course of the film and too dark.
I had a lot of fun. Of course, it hit plenty of my kinks, but it was supremely violent and pleasantly dark.
It has a higher RT rating than Sanctum.
I've heard excellent reviews for The Mechanic. Granted, they've mostly been from Patton Oswalt, but still.
He was 100% correct.
Tim, do good work on Dark Shadows, okay? Please? Snap out of whatever stage you were in during Alice In Wonderland.
They just did 'Q Foods' on Jeopardy! Technically it was 'Q Food & Drink' but three of the answers were in White Men Can't Jump and nobody smiled or made reference to it or anything. It was bizarre.
