I am watching Life of Brian and MP and the Holy Grail today. Probably not the best choice for my reawakened vertigo, but I gave my nephew Monty Python Fluxx for Christmas and it made me want to rewatch both (and the series, but I don't have that on DVD). If you're a fan, I highly recommend the game.
'Life of the Party'
Buffista Movies 7: Brides for 7 Samurai
A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.
I second the MP Fluxx recommendation. It's a good game anyway, and the Python makes it even better.
Is the current Narnia movie worth seeing in 3D?
I didn't think it was really worth seeing in 3D, Steph. In fact, I heard repeatedly that it's nicer in 2D because the picture is brighter and prettier.

We heard the same thing about Megamind. Of the reviews at Rotten Tomatoes (which I admittedly scanned), it seems like about 70% were anti-3D and 30% were pro-3D.
We're taking Tim's nieces and nephews to see Narnia tomorrow, so we needed to make the 3D-vs-2D decision. 2D it is.
Saw The King's Speech for the second time yesterday. Still wonderful.
Narnia wasn't shot in 3D so I wouldn't bother seeing it that way - I have yet to see any converted 3D movie that wasn't made muddy and out of focus by the process.
I saw Secretariat today. Because my sister-in-law persuaded all of her friends to see it, after she had already seen it 14 time, in the theatre, and read the book twice.
I thought it was ok. I think she's a little crazy.
Was the movie based on a particular book? I didn't know that.
Yes, but I don't know the name of it, unless it is called Secretariat, too.
