Fantastic supporting cast too including a very young Nathan Lane, Margaret Whitton (best known as the evil team owner in Major League and the cheated on wife in Secret of My Success) and especially the actress who played Annie, the abandoned wife of Nicholson's character.

Whoa, speaking of lost films I was just watching one of Blake's forgotten gems, Experiment in Terror.
b/w thriller shot on location in '62 San Francisco with the ever awesome Lee Remick, and the young Stefanie Powers and Ross Martin as the bad guy.
Awww, RIP. I'll have to pull out my dvd of Victor/Victoria. That movie has also has one of their sons playing a chorus boy watching Victor rehearsing.
Kathy - if you have Netflix, look for the stage version of Victor/Victoria. I know it used to be on instant view. It still has Julie Andrews in it and she does the introduction at the beginning and also talks during the intermission. Both of these are to the recorded viewing audience, not from on stage. I really enjoyed it.
And both films sort of lost from memory.
The Dead was on the Leaving Cert (Irish GCSE's, sort of) English curriculum when I was in school, and might still be. So at least there's bunches of Irish teenagers watching it...
That's a good idea. She is amazing to meet in real life, too. I love the commentary on the movie's dvd, because it has both her and Blake speaking.
I saw The Dead earlier this year. Lovely adaptation.
