I think my childhood notions of a great party were formed by the ending of Go, Dog, Go!
However, on the cinematic side I've always wanted to go to the party in Breakfast at Tiffany's.
Also, the house party in Almost Famous where the rock stars show up, looked fun.
And the soiree with all the New Wave glasses in RHPS.

Oooh, excellent choice. I'm drawn to a lot of Fellini's movie parties even though they're usually satirical and mocking.
I just saw his amazing "Toby Dammit" segment from the horror anthology Spirits of the Dead and I desperately wanted to go to that Oscar Party From Hell.
Then again, I wanted to live in the Bladerunner dystopia too.
I can't recall if we actually see the parties in Auntie Mame or just their aftermath, but I'm sure they were fun.
Of the ones I actually remember, it's a toss-up between the costume ball inside the Christmas ornament in Labyrinth and the one in Back to School where the band is Oingo Boingo and they perform "Dead Man's Party."

It says a lot about what a partier I am not that I would be most comfortable at the dinner parties thrown in Sliding Doors or Notting Hill.
I just love those good friends and good food scenarios.

I remember at least one, but I'm not sure whether Rosalind Russell or Lucille Ball was involved. And there's a very big difference.
As for me, depends on my mood. Overall, I think I'd prefer Dinner at Eight. But sometimes only The Party would do.
