Shit's all sorts of different now.

Right now, Emeline and I are nursing some ick so we're watching Toy Story 3 for the first time. I predict tears.

I finally watched it last night. There were many tears. And The Bear came down from the shelf for sleeping.

There was out and out sobbing. I admit it was me. Emeline was okay once the toys got out of the incinerator. I lost it when Andy was playing with Bonnie. Paddington was immediately fetched and has been watching "Bones" with me today.

FWIW, Rotten Tomatoes is giving Skyline 10/100... compare this to the 63/100 they're giving Jackass 3D.

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

Saw Unstoppable this weekend and really enjoyed it. It's relatively simplistic, based on a true story and you kind of know more or less what's going to happen, but they did a great job of ramping up the suspense throughout the movie and the characters came across as really likable. Great chemistry between Washington and Pine. Rosario Dawson really shone as the yard master, major BAMF points to her!

I finally saw RED yesterday evening. Oh, what fun! It reminded me that Bruce Willis can actually be charming when the material calls for it. Of course Helen Mirren was my favorite (it was seeing her with an assault rifle in the trailer that got me interested in the first place), but everyone did a great job.

What do you know, hiring a cast with 4 Oscars and 14 nominations between them makes for a pretty good action movie!

His favorite Muppet Movie character is Sweetums

Aww, I love Sweetums! Dylan has good taste.

I do still want to see Red--I'll have to see if it's still playing at any of the local theaters Thanksgiving weekend (Mom might be interested in seeing it).

Cronenberg's forthcoming film about Freud and Jung

The inimitable David Cronenberg is directing a new film about Sigmund Freud and Carl Jung. Based on Christopher Hampton's stage play "The Talking Cure," the story revolves around a patient named Sabina. Titled "A Dangerous Method," the film, starring Viggo Mortensen as Freud, Michael Fassbender as Jung, and Keira Knightley as Sabine, is due out next year. From AceShowbiz:

Detailing Knightley's character, director David Cronenberg recently said, "Really [Sabina] was a passionate, intelligent, very creative woman who didn't have an outlet for those things so it manifested itself as madness until she met Carl Jung. She was 18, he was about 29. They had an affair, she become his mistress." He concluded, "So it's the story of the three of them particularly and it's a really fascinating story."

Wouldn't it be cool if Freud and Jung were both superheros? And if they fought crime? OK, the movie sounds cool even if they're not superheros....

"Freud's been discredited, but Jung still has his merits." Reid, Criminal Minds.

The only quote I know about both of them.

If they were superheros, Jung would probably be The Archetype. So he could turn into various Jungian Archetypes (I can't remember what they are) as his superpower.
