What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

I just found out Simon Pegg and Nick Frost wrote a movie directed by the same guy who did Adventureland and Superbad. It's scheduled to hit screens in March.

Paul?

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

Paul?

That's the one.

wtf Reepicheep? Not that I'm opposed to Simon Pegg getting work but did Eddie Izzard demand too much money?

So far Frogs is awesome...ly bad. Augh lizard! Augh pollution! And that's just the opening credits.

Danger is my middle name, only I spell it R. u. t. h. - Tina Belcher.

I never saw Frogs. But I do remember Marvel Comics had their own Mad-like Magazine at the time and they did a very funny parody of it. Mostly the people were the monsterous ones and the frogs were commenting ironically. To this day, I think-quote "Ominous, man, real foreboding!" whenever something is, you know, ominous.

eta, was Joan Crawford in that or did I just dream it?

Joan Van Ark aka Gratuitous Leg. Did they really sell onesies for grownups in 1972 or was the costume designer licking the toads?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Oh, mah motherfucking god. Hobbit casting. Requisite grain of salt, but amongst others:

  • Martin Freeman as Bilbo
  • Richard Armitage as Thorin Oakenshield
  • Aidan Turner as Kili

Others rumoured to be involved somehow:

  • Stephen Fry
  • Bill Nighy

LotR recycling:

  • Andy Serkis
  • Ian McKellen

Frogs trailer. Not for arachnophobes.

I love him but no. Isn't he busy being Dr Watson?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

The seasons are three episodes long. Busy isn't the word I'd use.

After scoping out Freeman's imdb page I gotta admit there is a bit of a resemblance to Elijah Wood.

"Oh no! Has falling sky liquid once again caused you the sadness?" -Starfire

I read that as Morgan Freeman at first. I was REALLY confused.

By the way, if anyone sees Paranormal Activity 2, can you let me know if anything happens to the dog? That will probably determine whether or not I see the movie.
