"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Certainly the closest to the book I've ever seen.

That's what I've heard.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Here's a short film that I haven't watched yet: Oscar Wilde's Frankenstein

Compassionately intolerant

I threw a huge Halloween party one year and put the Langella Dracula on the iMac as background. Within 2 minutes the entire room full of fully costumed adults hit the carpet in rapt attention. Most everyone said it was their favorite version.

God help me, I really like Dracula 2000 too. "Never, fuck with an antiques dealer!" Yeah. Guilty pleasure.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

Holy crap - that's available? I've been wanting to see that for years.

It was recently finally released on DVD.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Just stumbled on this, but it's too funny and I needed to share.

Elaine May's tribute to Mike Nichols at his AFI lifetime achievement award.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

So I just watched Infernal Affairs. It was good, but I still prefer The Departed, which could be Saw It First Syndrome in addition to liking the director and the cast. I thought Sam was more likable than Costello, and I wish there were more scenes with him. The thing I liked the most about this version, however, was the characterization of Lau, as opposed to Sullivan. He's more interesting here, and it makes his character into one of two protagonists rather than the antagonist. It threw me at first, but I did believe that he wanted to be a good guy, and so I was a little more okay that Mark Wahlberg didn't come in and shoot him at the end.

I haven't trusted science since I saw the film "Flubber."

Tony Leung rules all.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

The Guardian lists their top 25 SFF movies.

I've seen all but 4. I suspect that even if I had seen Starship Troopers, it wouldn't make my list. Most of the rest are pretty standard choices.

I've seen all but three.

I love Starship Troopers, but it seems too goofy/funny to be in such a list.
