Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Yeah, the Soviets realized that to compete with the homoeroticism of Top Gun would be so expensive it'd wreck their economy.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I saw the new animated film from the guy who did Triplets of Belleville last night, based on an unproduced script by Jacques Tati. (The Illusionist)

Every part of it is beautifully done, and for one of the more depressing films I've ever seen, it also has a wonderful lightness about it.

The other really fun part was that DH and I had the Sony screening room completely to ourselves, which has never happened before. (The projectionist even waited to start so I could run to the restroom one last time.) It's a shame more people didn't RSVP to this screening, but DH and I took advantage by stretching out on the big sofa in the back and pretending it was our living room.

How very Tati.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Cool! Odd celebrity sightings are definitely part of the fun of living in LA.

It's always the odd ones and the character actors that make me happiest.

That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

Oh man. I really think I might flip out like a mammal if I saw Bud Cort in the grocery store. So cool!

He's instantly recognizable if, like us, you know who he is. Otherwise, he'd be indistinguishable from anyone else in the store. But the instant he passed into my field of vision, I was like "OMG, that's Bud Cort!"
