Buffista Movies 7: Brides for 7 Samurai

A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.

Calvin and Hobbes meets Let the Right One In

Ha! Oh, that's brilliant.

But "Rocks fall, everyone dies" doesn't work as the beginning of a movie.

Yeah, that's why I don't like Alien 3. Newt was my favorite, dammit.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Does anyone use runpee.com? I guess I have a pretty stalwart bladder--I don't tend to pee at cinemas, period. But I went to peek at entries for two movies I've seen recently (Inception and Scott Pilgrim) and I would have been miffed at missing any of either of them. And I didn't even like Scott Pilgrim. I'm just a completist.

Wow, and I thought epileptic Elizabeth Berkeley sex was a thread killer. It's nothing compared to approving of murdering Newt off screen before the movie starts.

I think I'll blame ita's refusal to pee during movies for killing the thread.

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

I have wanted to use runpee but I always forget to look up the movie before we leave for the cinema.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Yeah, I have a bladder of iron from many road trips. So I never need to go during movies. But I`m a completist, too. I mean, I watch credits.

I watch credits while trying very hard not to think about my bladder.

"already on the kiss-cam with Karl Marx"-

I figure those people have mothers, and I'm used to tuning out my bladder(In fact that may be my one surefire skill in the world...too bad I can't use it in job interviews.)

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

I left my slash goggles at home when viewing Inception. On second viewing (and reading a devastatingly epic fic), omg I see the Arthur/Eames. Second viewing, I was all "Cobb who? GTF off the screen!").

The other thing that struck me was how does one phonecall minutes/hours from landing to whomever to clear Cobb, translate to all pertinent people speedily getting the info that there is no problem with Cobb re-entering the states? Like, I don't doubt Saito's influence, but the speed at which it would trickle and update in all the pertinent databases.

"...and I'm really good at holding my pee!"

This would actually be a really helpful prerequisite for basic training where they make you drink lots of water but don't seem to understand the effects of such.
