Was 2009 that good?
It was a great year for animation at least.
'Not Fade Away'
A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.

Also, what was wrong with Iron Man 2?
It got a little heavy in the "Can Tony get himself back on the right track?" direction, but other than that there were sufficient blow-things-up moment to be worth it. And if Natasha shows up in the next movie, I do hope they recast her, because lord, that woman was painful to watch.
Samuel L. Jackson fulfilled his Badass For All Occassions duties well.
Jurassic Park was at least different. Anyway, I think that article means to talk about the summer, not the year, right? Actual language aside? This has not been a good summer for the movies.

Not enough RDJ in an undershirt.
Teppy makes a valid point.
I liked it, but not because I understood it...the other Ritchie caper films were better on that count. Wild ride, though. And Piven.
We turned on the subtitles about 10 minutes in, and it didn't help that much.
From back a bit:
I saw RocknRolla about a year ago and I found the movie to be very misogynist. I was kind of surprised that I had this reaction because I watch a lot of action movies that aren't exactly feminist movies.
Interesting. Do you remember what pinged you, in particular? The women are largely referred to/cast as as tarts and strippers, but given the subject matter and director I don't find that surprising. And, like I said, at least there is no violence against women onscreen. It's sad, but I find myself thankful when violence against women is not used as cheap character definition/titillation.
RE: 2010 movies.
2 words. Furry Vengance
Furry Vengance
I'm so bummed that movie isn't about what I think it's about.
Hee!
"Hello. My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die. Oh, and I'm a Furry now."
