hi Seska. Welcome.

I've been lazy today. Caught up on family phone calls. Catching up on recorded tv shows. Played some xbox. Soon to shower and go into work for Act II, and notes. If only my apt would clean itself, then life would be grand.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

I'm making bread, and trying to get my apartment cool enough that baking the bread doesn't make it sweltering. Two air conditioners and a fan on, and it's still around 80. The air conditioners in this building are horrible.

Maybe I should get a bread machine. I make bread often enough that it seems like it would be a good investment, but I really don't have room for any more stuff in my kitchen. (Currently, my food processors and crock pot sit on top of my microwave, and my rice cooker, toaster, and immersion blender on top of the fridge. And I do generally use the rice cooker, food processor, and immersion blender at least a few times a month, the rice cooker usually a few times a week. No room for new gadgets.)

askye -- I understood exactly what you meant. I think it i was in college when I figure out that just starting some where would actually start untangling things -- and it works for school work, wor work , house work ,etc. And I some times clean by rotating through some things or sometimes by concentrating on one area. depends on my mood.

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

I have succesfully applied the flea medicine and now the cat hates me. The dog doesn't mind because she knows it ends with a treat but since the cat is not treat-motivated she thinks once a month I like to torture her by rubbing her head for five minutes (her hair is so thick I have trouble finding skin) and then squirting goo on it.

Mostly lurking...

Welcome, Seska! (I hope I got your name right! I'm too lazy to go back and double-check)

vw, are you feeling any better?

Yeah. I rallied a bit around 4pm, and now I'm going to bed. Total quarts of Gatorade today? Three. Different flavors of Gatorade? Three. Favorite? Strawberry. Just in case you were wondering... Though, the orange-strawberry wasn't too bad.

Glad you're feeling better, vw.

Bread's in the oven now, and my apartment smells all nice and bready. It's not going to be as good as usual, because I ran out of maple syrup and had to make up the difference with regular sugar, but it still smells good.

I'm being vegan this week (I try to do one vegan week a month, though I haven't been so good about that lately), and trying to have mostly homemade stuff. Which includes bringing my lunch to the office, rather than buying something. I really should do this way more often -- it's not too difficult, and it's much healthier and cheaper. For tomorrow, I've got a tempeh mango salad sandwich on pita, some apple slices, and some baby carrots, with hummus to dip them in. So that's two fruits, one vegetable, two proteins, and a bread. (I get a little bit obsessive about balancing my meals when I bring lunch. I have a lunchbox with a bunch of little compartments, so it just seems like I ought to have something different in each one.)

VW, glad to hear.

Looks like just as the Yankee/BoSox game gets rolling, I go into work. That's what dvr is for, right?

Don't worry, omnis. By the time you get back from work, the score will be 29-26, and it will only be the bottom of the 4th.

Afternoon productivity may be threatened by neighbors coming over with margaritas

And it's bad because...?

"Stop being such a wanker and put it on."

"You'll pay for this."

I watched it with a friend last night! Yeah, good times.

I've been lazy today

Well, duh. You with the not Skyping me...
