I'm sure it's just part of the see-saw that is Cuban politics. But, could it be. Peace in our times.
Visit to U.S. in April of 1959: "Oh no... we're not a Communist government, not at alllll."
Or 1980: "Of course we'll let your families go."
"Oh wait-- we didn't tell you you'd have to take the political prisoners, common criminals, and dangerous mental patients as well? And that your families would be on different boats from the ones you brought? Whoopsie."
Color me cynical-- as long as there's someone named Castro in charge, I don't trust a damned thing they say. Doesn't mean I wouldn't love to be proven wrong, but somehow, I'm not buyin' it.
Hello SLNRLBF! Hope the hills of Vermont are doing well by you these days!
Next time our mutual friend askye comes to visit we should try to meet you at the Alchemist once again!
Thank you SLNRLBF! ::waves to Askye too:: I'll fill you in on the details off board. I'm not sure what I can do at this point, but I would love to try.
I'm alive. Maybe 3 hours of sleep. So far guest artist is being cordial, polite, etc. Hopefully that will last through the day. All 14 hours of it.
Best wishes to all the buffistas from the hills of Vermont.
Say hi to my bro!
Next time our mutual friend askye comes to visit we should try to meet you at the Alchemist once again!
The Alchemist: the unofficial Buffista pub. I love it.
Also, although we haven't actually made real plans, as in dates and plane tickets and dogsitter, The Boy and I are going to Vermont some time this year, probably in the summer.
Whoo! Keep me posted, we will definitely come up to hang if that is the case.
Hmmm, Vermont not far from New York. Last year I pretty much stayed sequestered in Otter Lake, but this year I hope to get out and about more.
Hivemind:
When someone's falling asleep on your shoulder/arm on the bus, what do you do?
Either change seats or bounce them in the opposite direction.
Or maybe sneeze in their face?
