InLessCrankyN, how was everyone's weekend? TCG and I were pretty busy this weekend, but it was fun. And yesterday I got my grandfather's seal of approval on my rice and ricotta pies, which is a pretty big deal for me.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

So we sat Em down and told her about my upcoming surgery last night. Her reaction was, "Mommy, I hope it gets all better. If you need me, I'll be with daddy."
I love you too, kiddo.
I'm sure she is just too young to fully understand surgery, Aims.
sj, I hate that, but also often wonder if I'm that person...
Awww...Aims! When is the surgery again?
vw, you are so not that person. I have the e-mails to prove it. This is a friend (not a buffista) who always e-mails when she needs me to write something for her, which I actually love doing. However, it would be nice to hear from her every once in a while when she doesn't need a favor.
{{sj}} and bops inconsiderate friend.
And yay on the grandpa food props.
Aims, mine were fairly nonchalant about my surgery as well. Of course, they're heading into adolescent land, so not altogether surprising. It's not that they don't care-- it's more that they see us as fairly invincible.
Sorry, sj, for the friend thing. It's less-than-great feeling. But hey, grand's approval IS a big thing! Yay you!
places a path of chocolate crumbs that lead from DFW international airport to my place in hopes of luring Shir
A-ah. Good luck with that. I mean, you can do this, sure but it's chocolate being AWAY from me, so for me it's more like taunting.
smiles innocently.
I lurv you shipping me. tacklehugs
"Mommy, I hope it gets all better. If you need me, I'll be with daddy."
Well, you know, it's not like I was there to pick up the vibe on which she said it, but I first read it as "I can't be with you there, and it's a scary thing, so I'll be with daddy, and I'm telling you that so you'll know where to find me then".
But again, wasn't there. Anyways, {} and good luck with that surgery, Aims. I'm sure everything will turn out alright.
knee ma~~~~ to your mom, Barb. and extra patient to the care givers
and surgery ma~~~ to you Aims -- May Em be an adult before she understands what it really happening

heheheheehhe
Yeah, Aims, Em just has no real frame of reference for this. Lots of ~ma for the procedure, and for your peace of mind.
Yay for the Grandpa approval, sj - that's gotta feel great. About your friend, that is too bad. Is there any chance that she might just be too shy, and feels she needs an excuse to contact you? I have a few people that I don't contact near as often as I would like, and I almost have to manufacture a reason.
For lunch I had fresh, steamed carrots, brocolli, and cauliflower. I stirred in some spagetti sauce and ricotta cheese, then melted some mozzarella over it. Teh yum.
Oh I didn't expect Em to freak out or be worried. But her "I'll be with Daddy" was said just so matter of factly that it cracked me up and broke my heart a little. She doesn't rely on me for a lot and while I know it's ok in the long run because she does know I'm there if she needs/wants me, it hurts when it's so plainly put there.
