Spike's Bitches 44: It's about the rules having changed.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

It always catches me off guard that Texas (or at least most of it?) is in Central Time.
The family in FL & NY keep thinking it's Eastern, and the family in CA forget that I'm no longer on Pacific, and have no clue which zone I'm in, so, ya, I get phone calls at ALL hours when I don't want them. It's good to be loved, I suppose.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Hey, the DH wrote about me in a blog entry for his new gig. [link] It was a total surprise when he told me to check it out. I Are Famus.

Compassionately intolerant

Oh, I should share another Terrier success story. There is a Jack named Sally, who lives in my friend's apartment building. Sally has attacked Bartleby twice and her people (an overweight, middle-aged couple) had decided that she is 'just who she is' and had given up on her ever interacting with other dogs.

About six months ago, I suggested more exercisse, so the fellow began running her next to his bike. I have mixed feelings about this method, but it seems to be working for them. The human is benefitting from the workout too.

Last week, we ran into the woman with Sally, and, as usual, Sally went for Bartleby. He's awesome about getting out of the way, so no big deal. The woman was super frustrated and expressed her pique at me...I guess for not joining her in believing her dog is a devil.

On Saturday, I noticed Sally in the parking lot of the apartment building with the woman and some strangers with a child. I calmly sat near them and let Sally come to us in her own time. The woman didn't notice us until Sally had come over and was sniffing at us. The woman freaked out until I asked her to please trust me.

A very long interaction shorter...by the time we were through, Sally and Bartleby were running around the lot like long lost friends. They also, together, greeted and played with two other dogs who walked by, without incident. The woman was crying and taking cellphone photos saying, "I can't wait to share this with my husband. He won't believe it!" The look of sheer joy on her face as she watched them run and play was worth the time I put in, and the distain both of the people had heaped on me over the previous months.

Theirs was never a Terrie-or. She just needed some time, patience and confidence.

I need something happy and fluffy, I've been reading political blogs that are worried about right wing extremists, and now I'm all fretful. Who has pictures of kittens and cute babies?
