[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

The students are protesting, wanting the University to divest itself of any investments in Israel (I'm not sure that we even have any, frankly). I'm feeling a bit nostalgic because it reminds me of when I protested for my undergrad to divest from South Africa.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

If she said fine, it should be fine.

The PSA (Progressive Students Association) at Marquette built a "shantytown" on the quad during our divestiture protests in the mid-80s. The scary thing was when one of the students graduated--he was from South Africa and returned home, only to be picked up because of his activities on campus and disappeared for a few months. Everyone was really happy when he was able to contact us after being released from prison.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Was the PSA in any way associated with the PSN (Progressive Student Network)? I was involved with the PSN at Madison.

I have fond memories of other PSN folk attacking CIA recruiters with Silly String. Good times. (I'm sure that showed them....)

I don't know if there was any direct connection, tommyrot. I was pretty much on the periphery of the PSA--attended a few meetings, helped out some with the shantytown construction, but got busy with classes and work and activism fell by the wayside. So, I don't remember too much about what went on with other schools.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

I am petty.

A woman I was friends with in high school friended me on FB. We caught up, chatted quite a bit, made plans to get together over Christmas (didn't happen, but it was nice to plan it), and then out of the blue with no explanation or ANYTHING, she deletes me as a friend and made herself completely unsearchable (which she wasn't before).

So today, because I have talked myself out of emailing her and asking WTF?, I deleted the picture I had of her and I at her wedding. Bitch don't wanna be my friend, bitch gets no face time in my album.

“Not dead yet!”

Isn't that shocking, -t? What is sad is that I often forget to name it when someone asks me about favorite movies, or movies I will watch again and again...it is just, well duh.

I have a friend who thinks it's the most boring movie ever. Good thing she's got other great qualities.

Funny thing, though, a love of Bull Durham has led to the possibility of my writing a baseball romance. It's a request from the editor who turned down the figure skating romance (but would still love to read the whole thing if I ever finish it *headdesk*) and would love to read any other sports ideas I might have. When I asked what kinds of sports, she said, "How are you with baseball?"

Heh.

Heh heh heh heh...

She said it's amazing how many sports-themed romance submissions she receives where it's clear the author knows NOTHING of the sport in question.

So I'm brainstorming a baseball romance while I sit here, whacked out on drugs.

I am petty.

I read this as "I am pretty," and agree with that statement completely!!!

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Maybe she left Facebook. I toy with doing it myself, because I just don't keep up or even check on the status of things, but I guess I'd rather have people thinking I'm a bitch than thinking I made a gesture or a flounce.
