Brandy can't hear me anymore and she does what she pleases including walking out in the street if I don't grab her. She is very slow so I am able to catch up with her. It is scary because she can't hear cars coming either!

Oh, yeah, that trick probably wouldn't have worked with Frank back when he COULD hear perfectly fine. He was the Great Ignoro! Fortunately, he never ran off into traffic. He did run off into the woods though several times when he was a young guy. And he would always come back when he darned well wanted to no matter what I did.

That's actually nice to hear. I have worked SO hard with Toto. Actually, about a half hour before "the event," we were bringing groceries in, and we left the door open, and he just sat on the kitchen floor and waited for us. When we were done, he sat up, perked his ears, and was like, "Ok, mom! I was a good boy! Can I have a treat now?" And so I gave him a treat, told him he was a good boy, and commented to mom and dad about how well he's been doing with not running off lately.

I used to feel like a terrible pet owner due to this trait until I recently read a page on Cairns for new Cairn owners. It specifically says to watch doors because they're runners--whenever they see something.

So, I don't know what caught his attention yesterday, but he went after it, and would not be stopped.

My doctor recently started me on Tramadol (I've developed arthritis ... sigh). It's good stuff. It does make me sleepy ... which means I've been getting to sleep earlier than I used to. BUT! it also seems to be an appetite suppresant for me. Seems I've lucked out - for once - in the side effects sweepstakes.

It's so funny how my massive dosage of Bupropian (Wellbutrin) has finally, FINALLY completely curbed my desire to smoke, 9 years after I first "officially" quit.

I know, right? It's weird and a little unnerving how it messes with your brain. But also thank God -- I don't know that I have the willpower otherwise, seriously.

It is snowing again. Lots of snow. I'm afraid to look at the forecast. The roads had finally cleared from last week's storm and the weekend was BEAUTIFUL. This morning, drifting light snow and it has gotten heavier and heavier as the morning has progressed.

I wish I had worked from home. I'm still trying to figure out the reason behind my spot bonus. Nothing was on my desk when I came in and so far my boss hasn't answered my e-mail. Again, not complaining, just confused.

I switched to Lunesta because it was supposed to help me sleep through the night. I was all excited. NSM with the working. Back to Ambien when I next see the doc, which is nowhere soon enough.

So, potentially funny thing. For my Essay #2 in my Comp 226 class, we had to write a persuasive essay on a topic of our choosing. I went the lazy route and just edited and submitted the paper I wrote about the need for comprehensive sex ed in public schools. I submitted it on March 12 and the grades are supposed to be posted within 14 days of being submitted, so the grade was due last Thursday. I checked the status of it today and saw that my paper is coming up for a 100% match on the Plagarism Checker, thereby indicating that I plagarized the paper. which is probably why I have no grade posted. I checked the links from the software and two of them are from my works cited section, no big deal. The main link, for the plagarized paper, is a link to You'll All Pay (Joe's site), where I posted the paper shortly after I wrote it. I wonder how long it will take my instructor to realize that I didn't plagarize.

I sent her an inocuous email asking why my grade hadn't been posted. We'll se what she says.

Aims, not to alarm you, but in our school's plagiarism rules (or maybe it's specific to the English department, I can't remember), you can plagiarize your own work by turning it in for more than one class... So, double-check their guidelines.
