Giles: I'm sure we're all perfectly safe. Dawn: We're safe. Right. And Spike built a robot Buffy to play checkers with. Tara: It sounded convincing when I thought it.

'Dirty Girls'

Spike's Bitches 44: It's about the rules having changed.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

My friend L thinks that the henna did change my hair color. My friend R says it didn't. I'm unsure, but I'll go with L on this, because she's Egyptian and so is henna. (I never said this was sound logic.) (Though maybe I can make an argument for it -- she's more used to seeing differences between different shades of dark hair, while R doesn't really notice the difference because she's used to being places with only a few dark-haired people? Yeah, I dunno. But my grey hairs have definitely turned reddish blonde.)

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

Thrive to spite them

So Grandma E is in the hospital still. But this is a good thing, they did more tests today and there is a husband/wife cardiologist team as well as her regular cardiologist working on her.

She's had non stop guests and made friends with everyone on the staff. I took her a crossword puzzle book, and she was telling me about this "nice young men" who came to visit. It was two college students who are pharmacy majors and both of their dads had heart attacks. so now they go visit the cardiology patients to cheer them up. They had cards but Grandma was a bit stressed and could only remember Go Fish, and she heard all about their life stories.

"And they taught me the neatest game, you had to add for, and I'm good at that it was called -- twenty I think."

"Um, 21 maybe"

"Yes that's it. It was fun."

I didn't burst out laughing but I almost did, the thought of my grandma playing Twenty One.

Oh and she also sent a note back with her lunch thanking the hospital kitchen for such a lovely meal and saying how beautiful the presentation was. And, again, saying that she enjoyed it but just couldn't finish it all.
