Spike's Bitches 44: It's about the rules having changed.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
ND's mom decided she wanted to take the family on a cruise, so she paid for the whole family (ND's sister & husband, niece & boyfriend; the two of us, and mom's caregiver) to spend a week on a cruise ship in the Mexican Riviera. I'm not looking a gift horse in the mouth--it was amazingly generous and should be fun--but we should have some interesting stories to tell after a week trapped on a boat with the crazy fam.
Well, it definitely won't be a boring vacation.
Oh, Kristin and ND, that should be interesting!
Anne, are you taking it easy? Sending you some tea...
I need some different perspectives. I just took a break and finished the quilt top for CBD's parents housewarming present. I LOVED it until I put the final border on. Now I hate it. Is it just me, or does that last border need to go? Is it too much of that fabric?
I'm pretty sure boring will not be an adjective used to describe the vacation.
vw, I think the quilt is gorgeous!
I have no helpful suggestions on fake nails, but I know someone around here does--Jesse? Someone else has dealt with it too...
Scrappy, my mom does acrylic nails, and she keeps them fairly short. You just let the nail technician know what you want...and tell them to keep cutting until they get the length you want.
Also, DO NOT take them off yourself. Go in and have them removed.
Wah, I think I am getting sick!
I'm camped out on the couch feeling crappy and secretly relieved I have an excuse to not do school work. Then I feel even crappier about that.
In exciting news, I got in invitation for a wedding in Lousiana/New Orleans in May. It's the weekend before my graduation so I am hoping to get down there early and play before the wedding festivities! So I've been mining the old F2F thread and Chowhound for places to eat and drink, which is fun.
Thanks JZ and Java. I'll sneak around and try to tie the screen in place. It's on the south side of the building and can really bang in the wind.
I closed the blind so that the birds wouldn't have to look panicked at me every time I walk to the fridge but it freaked them out! They left and did not some back until I opened the blind again. Whodda thunk?
vw I love the quilt like it is but maybe the outside border could be narrower.
