Spike's Bitches 44: It's about the rules having changed.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Now tagless for your comfort.

Re Natasha Richardson, I wonder if she had been hurt more initially after the fall, if she might have gotten help sooner and things could have been caught in time to do something.

A couple of years ago in Columbus at a Blue Jackets hockey game, a little girl got hit in the head with a puck. She seems totally fine and walked out of the game smiling and laughing. Within a day, she had died of something similar. It was a freak accident. Tragic and sad, but an very freak accident.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

It seems that laughing at uneducated people mispronouncing words is a perfectly fine Christian pastime for Elsie.

I've been thinking about getting a Kindle, or maybe asking for one for my next birthday. I'm waiting to see if the price goes down, though, and what the competitors will be like.

Hey. New board.

Google, Sony Attempt to Counter Amazon Kindle with 600,000-eBook Library

I think most of those books are probably available for the Kindle through other sources (Manybooks, Feedbooks, Project Gutenberg directly). I've always though Amazon was missing a boat by not converting all of Project Gutenberg to minimalistic Kindle texts and offering them for 5 cents each (to cover bandwidth costs) directly on the Kindle store - those of us that have grokked Feedbooks for the Kindle wouldn't use it, but many people would. They could increase the advertised size of their library quite a bit that way.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

The only reason I DON'T eat Peeps is because CERTAIN PEOPLE think they turn me into a sugar-crazed and incoherent loony.

But that makes it sound like you turning into a sugar-crazed and incoherent loony is a bad thing.

The status is NOT quo.

You can download all of the Project Gutenberg books onto your Kindle for FREE! ND hasn't shown me how yet, but I know he's done it himself. I am madly in love with my Kindle 2 (which was his Valentine's present to me, that most excellent man of mine).

See, that's my argument. I've been told I'm all sorts of entertaining when sugar-crazed, so why shouldn't I eat Peeps?

I bet I know people who would help you prove your point. Maybe even this weekend.

You are SO entertaining when sugar-crazed! I vote PEEPS FOR JILLI!

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Regarding Natasha Richardson, her death is upsetting me more than I would have expected it to. My heart goes out to her sons and her poor mother to have to lose a child a her age.

Regarding Peeps. I like them when they're left out of the package for a little while and go a bit stale.

I am planning on making people go out for chocolate martinis this weekend, so we get the double-whammy of sugar AND alcohol! What could be better? (Well, it would be better if there were more people who were going to be here, but alas.)
