Now hold on, I'm gonna press the right pedal harder. I expect us to accelerate.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

There is also no HR department. Yay small non-profits?

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Aims, how big is the company? Do they have an HR department? If so, then the "we forgot" doesn't seem likely.

eta: x-posty.

Our wings are not tired.

Aimee, that completely sucks, but I wouldn't get paranoid. It sounds like they really do like you, and you're fitting into the new role very well, and things are going well. However, it being a non-profit, they probably really do only have a certain amount per-position that is approved by the board. Has a replacement for your old job been found? I'm betting they're getting ready to fill it, and just realized the budget issue.

Health benefits for your entire family, without payment from you, is HUGE. We don't even have that at my company. And if they had told you right away, you'd have lost two months of that pay difference, so.

The pay reduction completely sucks, and it most certainly should have been part of the discussion on whether you'd do the transition. But, it wasn't. And the economy, especially in Michigan, is so god-awful, that, yeah. You know the rest.

They are "unsure" if they are going to fill my old position. There hasn't been any interviewing for it, nor advertising. A lot of my old job went to or is going to the new accounting person, another couple pieces went back to the property managers, and the rest I'm still doing.

I am lucky, I am lucky, I am lucky.

Because books.

Oh, Aims, OUCH. We need to find you a boss who isn't either maliciously crazycakes or this, um, forgetful and not-having-their-shit-together.

Our wings are not tired.

I know it gets old to have to be "happy" when truly some things suck, *just* because the economy is so damned bad. I sincerely hope that my post didn't appear condescending or dismissive.

java - you did not sound like any of those things. You sounded like an awesome friend who is offering support and sympathy. It does get old, but I feel good about the fact that I am plugging a lot at school and will soon be able to look forward to lots of money and summers off and 7 hour work days as a teacher.

...

Well, the summers will be off, anyway.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

I'm watching Dancing With the Stars. My father came into the family room, noticed that I wasn't paying attention to whatever was on TV, and switched to this channel. I am so confused.
