Can't you ever get your mind out of the hellmouth?

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Is there any advantage to having your renters insurance with the same company that you have your car insurance if you don't get a multi-line discount?

Thrive to spite them

I was hungry before I started reading this and now I'm really hungry!

I also have kittens! I adopted a brother and sister today. Right now they are chilling in the bathroom, this is where they will be until Thursday. Thursday the girl, Maddie, goes to the vet to get spayed (and I got a huge discount on this for adopting them and there was no adoption fee). When she gets back on Friday the bathroom will be all hers and the boy , currently named Nalu, will have to move some place else.

I'm thinking he'll go in the bedroom and then check out the study only under supervision. I need to kitten proof my house.

This was kinda spur of the moment, deciding on these two. They were at my vets and I went at lunch to look. And first I saw Nalu and the vet tech put me in the same room where I said good bye to Anna. (I mentioned this and they offered to move me but I said it was okay). He's a very friendly medium haired cat with Siamese markings. Very cuddly, also playful. I'm thinking of renaming him Dean.

Then I played with Maddie, she's much quieter and very shy but also sweet. I filled out an application for Nalu but called back and said I wanted them both. Then they checked with my landlord and now they are mine.

Pictures will follow soon.

I have kittens!

anyone have Kitten owing advice?

Kittehs!!!

No advice--I got my first and current cat when she was already 2-3 years old.

But enjoy them!

Keep us up to date on cute kitteh stories, and make sure to take lots of pictures, please!

Oh, I meant to ask--are they babies, or moving towards awkward teenagedom?

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Computer scientists have determined that the best way to keep the intertubes unclogged is by sending pictures of kittens through them.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Don't play fight games with your hands, even though it's fun. Hands are for petting and nuzzling only. Use laser pointers or feathers for attack play from the very beginning. When they bite you (and they will) get used to instantly and LOUDLY saying OW! right in their ear. It has worked with all kittens I have raised to get them to stop biting hands or the dreaded undercover footbite in the middle of the night.

Also hold them on your lap often and make them stay there a bit longer than they want, if either of them is shy. If they haven't been socialized well, it takes a while to make them see how nice lap-sitting can be.

Five month olds seem to be so cute! Comcast OnDemand has a "Pet Adoption" section featuring cats from the Chicago city shelter, and they have two adorable five-month-old boys right now that I would love to get. The woman doing the presenting said that Henry was the friendliest cat they'd ever had there, and just as she said it, he jumped up and tried to wrap his front paws around her neck and she just had to pick him up and snuggle him! And then there was Horton, who was going wild in sheer bliss over her rubbing his tummy--he kept wriggling around and flopping over, pleading for more. So damn adorable!
