I'm a big girl. Just tell me.

Spike's Bitches 44: It's about the rules having changed.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

All is well that ends in pizza.

Pride and Prejudice and Zombies!

Pride and Prejudice and Zombies -- Pride and Prejudice and Zombies features the original text of Jane Austen's beloved novel with all-new scenes of bone-crunching zombie action. As our story opens, a mysterious plague has fallen upon the quiet English village of Meryton—and the dead are returning to life! Feisty heroine Elizabeth Bennet is determined to wipe out the zombie menace, but she's soon distracted by the arrival of the haughty and arrogant Mr. Darcy. What ensues is a delightful comedy of manners with plenty of civilized sparring between the two young lovers—and even more violent sparring on the blood-soaked battlefield as Elizabeth wages war against hordes of flesh-eating undead. Complete with 20 illustrations in the style of C. E. Brock (the original illustrator of Pride and Prejudice), this insanely funny expanded edition will introduce Jane Austen's classic novel to new legions of fans.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

{{{meara}}} Feel better. You're right; it is much too quiet in here.

I'm awake, but I don't really have anything interesting to say. My body clock has gotten all messed up the past few nights. So, now it thinks that 4 AM is bedtime, and noon is a good time to get up. This is dangerous because it was my default setting when I lived alone, so it can be very tempting for me.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Oddly, I've gotten the same "What kind of name is that? Are you from Germany?" questions at least twice before from nurses and techs at this hospital. I'm not sure what's up with that. Really don't feel like discussing my ethnic background with random people, and "German" isn't really the correct answer, but it's the closest that I want to give to some random person asking.

I'd take it as procedure-time-killing small talk. Your last name is a little unusual and seems reasonable enough to chat about. Then when you say "German" (when people have taken you as half-black, Indian, Philipina...) it's easy to continue the conversation along those lines.

I get a similar reaction to my Spanish last name and my not-Latina appearance.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

My sister makes "where is your name from?" conversation with just about everyone with a little different name. I tried to explain people may find it intrusive, but she doesn't care.

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

I thought to myself, "I wish I could get MM's Re-interpretation of the News every single day. And then, I'd like him to start on a Re-telling of Historical Moments, too."

I would read this every day. Some of the blogs that got book deals came out less than once a day. Waiterrant comes out less than once a week, Gothic Charm School less than that. You'll All Pay is a great name for a book. ijs.

My sister makes "where is your name from?" conversation with just about everyone with a little different name.

My Mom does this too & also with accents but for some reason she's able to charm most everyone.
