Spike's Bitches 44: It's about the rules having changed.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

It seems one of the ducks have temporarily been pacified. Now for the others. I swear, all my politcal moxy/energy is being eaten up dealing with the new building.

Maybe an hour at the gym will help. Haven't gone in a few weeks with crazy work schedule.

Our wings are not tired.

Not fannish, unless you're into Chuck Norris, but I keep thinking of "Ranger" for "Walker, Texas Ranger". But the walker's a she not a he.

Hee!

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

I've learned the hard, sad lesson that big pumpkins really don't taste like all that much, even with butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Oh, well, the clients enjoyed cleaning the seeds and roasting them.

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

Someone should inform people that they can still show antipathy in the mornings, and still being respectful for others. God knows I do it all the time (my buses' experience, #83729).

I'm now at the volunteering place. Maybe after this morning's bus people I'm more fragile, but reading about the hell beyond legal cases and reason is a kick in the gut. There's just so much wrongness, and we're only 6 people here. But we're doing what we can.

I will vote for a name for Seska's walker when I'll be more awake. I know there's also a voting in b.org I should look into, as well.

ION, I have now both a bed and a closet in my room, which is massive wow and joy. Also? It's home. I'm at home, guys. It's so weird, and so good, too.

I'm also a huge nerd who spent 3 hours yesterday and will spend another hour today, out of her free will and information management skills, in transforming Roman census data into graph (with notes on dates of significant laws, wars and tribunes/consuls to clarify information from the 150 pages we were asked to read to the class).

Oh, and hey, all.

Shir, I am so glad that you are feeling at home. You definitely deserve that little bit of ease. Also, go on with your geeky self!

Shir, what volunteering are you doing? I hope it goes well - your brief description makes it sound like tough work.

Unless there are more suggestions, I'm moving towards Random for the walker. It feels right-er than Velma, and Susan seems not popular (not that she'd care). Any more ideas before I settle?

The Girl is coming home for a week! Hurrah. I'm off to take my walker on the bus for the first time, because my car boot (trunk) will not open, and I don't have time to investigate why. There are libraries to get to and dissertations to write.

Seska, I'm volunteering at the human trafficking prevention coordination unit of the Ministry of Justice (I hope I didn't screw up their name. It's a long one).

psst... Shir is a geek. Pass it on.

And proof that serendipity can be fun. In the randomness of loading up things to watch in my Netflix instant cue, I noticed that right before all the old Doctor Who stuff, is the 1927 silent movie, "Metropolis". [link] At first I thought it was a Doctor Who episode by it's cover. I laughed. (yes, I know, that makes me a geek of sorts too, I'm sure).
