[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

that is a concern. The head of the trail, near my place, is very ADA accessible. Unfortunately, the "access" to get off the trail right at work is a path cut thru the bamboo that is steep and rocky and would be best on a mountain bike. So no bike riding to work on the trike. But for recreation/exercise, it could be nice. It's just a chunk of change. And trying to fit it in the apartment. Those are the things holding me back right now.

Chunk of change, there's no denying that. But if you'd use it, it would be worth it. And riding is a brilliant form of exercise because you can so easily adjust your speed to maintain heart rate for a reasonable cardio workout at your own level, how you are feeling that day, etc. Also, definitely strengthens the leg muscles, and even on a trike there'd be some working the core, particularly if you can school yourself to be mindful of posture. That blue model, the second one, has more options for compressing it for better storage. Have you got a spot where you could install a hook on your wall to hang it from the front end - if you truncate the handlebars and seat, it might have a relatively compact footprint standing on its ass-end.

I don't think I could lift it that high, to be honest. But I have this itty bitty enclosed patio. I was thinking of storing it out there under a tarp or something. Dunno. I need to try it, make sure I feel comfy and not wobbly. I should hope so, they seem pretty secure. Just don't make a sharp turn. The other thing is, figuring out how to secure the crutches while riding.

All is well that ends in pizza.

Omnis, I'm thinking some sort of cup or receiver of some kind mounted (or even duct taped temporarily until you found a better way) behind the basket, below the seat and above the chain guard.

Then you could stick the ends of the crutches over the top of the back, then through the basket and sticking into the "cup."

Then a dog collar or tie on the back end of the basket to secure the crutches. Maybe if the crutch ends stick out a bit, put a flag on them for extra safety.

ETA:

Something like this: [link]

Only not so much stick figures as real crutches.

I was too tired to do specifics on the crutches...

Under the heading "Of all the things I've lost, I miss my mind the most."

I woke up about the time of the time change tonight and set a couple of clocks ahead, including the bathroom clock.

I also got lost trying to puzzle out a problem and puttered around a bit.

So I lost track of, as it happens, time.

So when I found myself in the bathroom again a few minutes ago, I laughed out loud, as I saw that both Andi and I had set the clock ahead 1 hour. So I set it back an hour.

Except that she didn't. When I got back downstairs just now I noticed, that yes, indeed it is almost 5 AM now.

t headdesk.

Time to go back to sleep.

Andrea, my love, please set the clock in the bathroom when you see this message in the morning. I am apparently non compos mentis right now.

Ok, got the job done. I've set it to about the same time as my bedroom clock. By which I mean it's more like ten minutes ahead rather than 15.

BTW, why do two of my nephews now have facial hair?! When the heck did my beautiful little kewpie-doll David grow up enough to have a beard?!? Insanity!

Mostly lurking...

Oh, meara. That so sucks. I guess it was breakup night. Hang in there, you.

Total insanity! I mean, I can't believe mine is already falling in love with Star Wars, but facial hair! Hopefully I have a few more years before that.

I knew I was forgetting something. meara, I'm sorry you had to end this relationship. Here's to you finding just the right woman.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

I can't believe mine is already falling in love with Star Wars

Isaac has added Star Wars to his list of obsessions, along with the more age appropriate Transformers. He saw a Millennium Falcon at one of Franny's friend's houses and that was it. Of course, he calls it the American Falcon. What can I say? Pronunciation is hard.
